Beaches and water sports

Beaches with sand or white pebbles, some organized and some of natural beauty, but all much frequented, some within easy reach and others in small coves reached only on foot; there’s quite a wide variety of options that guarantees the visitor will have a great time!

The closest and largest beach of the island is the beach of Agios Fokas, both sandy and pebbled, stretching from the bay of Agali to Vryokastro. It’s an organized beach with beach bars and regular buses (KTEL) if you don’t want to walk.

There are many other organized beaches reached by car or bus; Ag. Ioannis and Ag. Sostis at the strait between Tinos and Mykonos, Kionia, Kolimbithra on the north of the island, Panormos, as well as the beaches of Kardiani (Giannaki’s cove), Ysternia, Ag. Romanos, Ag. Thalassa, Kavalourko, Lychnaftia, Leivada, Pachia Ammos. There are plenty more beaches on the island but, in order to discover them and enjoy their crystal clear waters, you will need your own means of transport.
At the beaches of Agios Fokas, Rochari and Kolibithra you can play beach volley and there are often friendly tournaments organised among holidaymakers. Also the beaches of Agios Fokas, Agios Ioannis and Kionia offer you great windsurfing experiences.
